A guide to accessing the In Practice® professional learning programmes securely from home, the workplace and organisational networks.
The In Practice® Series has been designed as a modern browser-based professional learning programme.
No software installation is required.
The programmes run entirely through a standard web browser using a secure internet connection.
In most organisations, learners can access the programmes in exactly the same way as they would any other professional website.
For much of the series, the only thing we ask learners to provide is an email login — and there is a practical reason for that. It allows your progress to be saved, so you can leave and return at any time, and it keeps your completed work, reports and certificates associated with you.
Registration also helps us understand how the In Practice® Series is being used: where engagement is strong, where there may be unmet professional-development needs, and where the series should go next.
That understanding helps us adapt and develop the existing programmes, and to provide further programmes for professional practice.
In simple terms — the more we understand about how people use In Practice®, the better we can make it, and the better we can identify what professional practice support should come next.
Many learners access the In Practice® Series using workplace computers provided by employers, pension schemes, regulators, consultancies and financial services organisations.
The programmes have been designed to minimise technical barriers by operating entirely through a secure web browser.
It does not require:
The programmes are designed to operate using:
A modern HTML5-compatible browser with JavaScript enabled is recommended.
A PDF reader may be required where downloadable resources are provided.
Some organisations apply additional security policies to workplace devices.
If access is restricted, your IT department may simply need to approve access to the programme domains.
No local software installation is required.
The programmes operate using secure encrypted web connections (HTTPS).
Learners access the programmes through their web browser without installing additional software.
If you experience difficulties accessing the programmes from a workplace device, please speak with your organisation's IT support team in the first instance.
They can normally confirm whether access to the programme domains is permitted within your organisation.
